At Having Fun with Type 1, we start by educating and informing the children about type 1 diabetes. They learn everything they need to know about this autoimmune disease, how to recognise the symptoms, how to assist and support people with type 1 and to have social acceptance. They also learn how to make their own sugar-free snacks with low carbohydrates as well.
Parents will have the opportunity to take part in the 'Having Fun with Type 1' journey with their children. Online healthy food workshops will take place for families to bake and cook with wholefoods at home. Parents will learn the issues of insulin resistance and how this has an impact on child obesity.
